1934 Born in Subotica, Yugoslavia.
June 16. 1940 - 44 Elementary school in Szeged, Hungary.
1944 - 45 Deportation and concentration camp.
1945 Repatriation to Yugoslavia. 1948 Immigration to Israel; Kibbutz Hazorea.

1953 Matriculation from Herzlia.
Hebrew Gymnasium, Tel-Aviv. 1953 - 55 Military service and Kibbutz Sde Boker.
1955 Registered at the Hebrew University as a physics student.
1956 Cambridge Proficiency Gertificate in English.
1958 Studied biology at the Hebrew University.
1959-63 Taught full-time the two upper classes at the Rehavia Hebrew Gymnasium, Jerusalem: mainly preparation for matriculation examinations in physics and mathematics. 1961 Began work on M. Sc. thesis with Prof. Y. Bar-Hillel on the philosophy of Karl Popper. Resumed studies in third-year physics.
1965 Received the M.Sc. degree — majoring in Physics: thesis based on work with Prof. W. Low in theoretical and experimental spectroscopy; minor subjects: mathematics and history of science.
1966 Work on doctoral thesis «On the Emergence of the Energy Concept» at Brandeis University; Supervisor Prof. S. Toulmin.
1967 Appointed Instructor in the Dept. of History of Science at Harvard University; taught at Harvard Summer School. Received the Ph. D. degree in December.
1968 Appointed Research Fellow in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at the Hebrew University.
1970 Appointed Senior Lecturer; November 15 appointed Chair-man of the Dept. of History and Philosophy of Science.
1969 Appointed Director, Van Leer Jerusalem Foundation.
